Filyhost vs tiiny.host

They are for different jobs, and the honest thing is to say which. One publishes a page and keeps it there. The other hands work to a client and gets work back. If you are choosing, this is the difference that decides it.

They are for different jobs

Most comparisons pretend two products are the same thing with different prices. These two are not.

tiiny.host publishes something and keeps it there.

A portfolio, a landing page, a PDF you hand out for years. It gives you your own domain, analytics, a password, edits in place, a team, and a free link that never expires as long as you log in now and then. It is, in short, web hosting with the hard parts removed — and it is good at that.

Filyhost hands work to a client and gets work back.

A folder of finished files, a 2 GB video, a build for review. The link is private by default, it expires on purpose, and there is a second kind of link — an inbox — that your client sends files to. There is no custom domain and no analytics, because a deliverable is not a website.

Where tiiny.host is the better choice

Genuinely, not as a courtesy.

Where Filyhost is the better choice

The four things that decide it for most people who end up here.

The inbox, briefly

The one thing on this page with no equivalent in the other column.

Name an inbox after the client or the job. Send them the link. They confirm their address once and drop in whatever you asked for, as many times as they like, at full resolution — no 25 MB email bounce, no phone quietly squashing the photos. Files arrive grouped by who sent them, you get an email when something lands, and you can download the lot as one archive. Nothing they send is ever public.

Questions people ask

Is Filyhost a tiiny.host alternative?

For sharing files with a client, yes, and usually a cheaper one. For hosting a website you want to keep up on your own domain, no — that is what tiiny.host is for, and Filyhost does not try to be.

Can I host a website on Filyhost?

You can share one. A zip with an index.html unpacks and works, which is right for a demo or a build for review. But links expire, there is no custom domain, and the site is served in a sandbox. If you want a site that stays up, use a web host.

Does tiiny.host have an inbox?

No. tiiny.host publishes files outward. There is nothing on it that lets a client upload files to you, which is the job an inbox exists for.

Which one is cheaper?

For a big file, Filyhost by a distance: a 1 GB file is free here and needs a $31-a-month plan there. For a small public page you keep up for years, tiiny.host’s free tier costs nothing at all. Premium here is $29 once; their plans are $5 to $74 a month.

Are my files public on Filyhost?

Not by default. A free link asks whoever opens it to confirm an email address first. Your first link opens with no wall, and you can make any link open, or invite-only on Premium. Inbox files are never public to anyone.
